"Hanna Seiman’s love of color is evidenced in all of her luminous paintings. Her titles offer a clue to a substance woven by a mysterious light.
Painting with a delicate sensibility, she covers a canvas in rhythmic mists of both light and dark. In "Still Searching," a transparent buoyant golden light rises above the deeper, rich blues and lavenders, which give support to the expanding shape. The overall feeling allows endless possibilities. Centered within the surrounding softness in "Emotional Journey," she places a more defined but still strong and mysterious red form in dark blue. Seiman's palette thickens in very small "assemblages," as in "A Marriage of Convenience" and "Full Throttle," yet retains the same light of the larger paintings. The seemingly accidental configurations further intensifies the mystery inherent in these paintings. These are provocative paintings - they enact endings and beginnings with rich color determining their moods." - Review by Sally Jessup, former writer for ArtWorld Featured above: CHANGING SEASON acrylic on aluminum, 2020 14" x 18"
